Australian Fashion Week 2024

PART THREE: The Josephs

Model walking for JOSEPH & JAMES at Australian Fashion Week 2024

Our third instalment, The Josephs, made its debut at Australian Fashion Week 2024 in the legendary Gallery I at Carriageworks in Sydney. The collection was part of the David Jones Indigenous Fashion Projects Runway, featuring collections from five First Nations designers.

The Josephs collection is a homage to those who have come before. Designer Juanita Page was inspired by the key eras her grandfather and father lived through as they each navigated early adulthood as Aboriginal, South Sea Islander and Samoan men in Mackay, Queensland. Both bearers of the name ‘Joseph’, Juanita presents a collection that will serve as a thank you, an appreciation for the sacrifices made by the men that paved the way for her to step into the richness of life and opportunities that were out of reach in their time.

Our collection featured in a review by Charlie Calver from GQ Australia:

"If you understand the values of silhouettes, quality materials and graceful design, this is a collection you’ll want to add to your wardrobe..."

Proudly supported by David Jones, Pandora and IMG Australia, brought to you by Indigenous Fashion Projects (IFP), a program from the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) Foundation.
